First team
F - Cici Gonzalez, So., Steinbrenner - The sophomore had 29 goals and 25 assists to lead first-year Steinbrenner to an undefeated regular season, a district title and a region quarterfinal win.
F - Colby Maffei, So., Tampa Prep - The sophomore led the 2A state runner-up Terrapins with 44 goals, while also adding 10 assists.
F - Samantha Newhaller, Sr., Berkeley Prep - Newhaller had 18 goals and 14 assists and notched the game-winner in the Buccaneers' 1-0 3A state semifinal win.
MF - Caroline Evers, So., Newsome - Evers was perfect on penalty kicks this season and the sophomore had 12 goals and 13 assists.
MF - Amber Famiglietti, Sr., Berkeley Prep - A senior and one of the Buccaneers captains, Famiglietti had 20 goals and 13 assists.
MF - Karina Gutsche, Jr., Newsome - The junior captain, who has verbally committed to the University of Florida, led a young Wolves team with 18 goals and 16 assists.
MF - Ellen Moore, Sr., Plant - Moore helped lead the Panthers to a district title and a region quarterfinal win. She had seven goals and added 14 assists.
D - Gabbie Peek, Sr., Freedom - The on-the-field leader paced a stingy defense for the first-time district champion Patriots.
D - Taylor Richardson, Jr., Berkeley Prep - Another of the Buccaneers captains, the speedy Richardson had 16 goals and seven assists.
D - Jackie Simpson, So., Newsome - Simpson may have been the Wolves' best-kept secret, leading a young defense along with adding 15 goals.
D - Amy Werdine, Sr., Plant - Werdine stepped up as a leader for the Panthers defense and also helped lead Plant to a region quarterfinal 1-0 win with an overtime header.
GK - Jordan Hatton, Sr., Tampa Prep - The four-year starter in goal for the Terrapins had 139 saves.

The All-Hillsborough County Girls Soccer Team was selected by correspondent Jarrett Guthrie, with input by coaches. The Player and Coach of the Year will be announced at our annual Parade of Athletes banquet May 24.
